Top 5 Actresses of Tollywood in 2013: A Year in Review
A
year in Review for Bengali Cinema is always a positive thing for the industry and 2013 has been no different!
From within a myriad of films like Shabdo, Mishawr Rahasya, Hawa Bodol, C/o Sir, Aborto, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends, Maach, Mishti & More, Aschorjyo Prodeep etc. - the achiever's list is quite long!
We at Tollywood Dhamaka take a look back at 2013 with our ranking of the Top 5 Actresses of Tollywood in the last year:
At no.5 would be Rituparna Sengupta for having done films of both kinds – those which have been good and those which have been rather intolerable! From the likes of Alik Sukh, Mrs. Sen, A Political Murder, Khancha, Mukti to the likes of Villain, Har Mana Har – she has done it all!
At no.4, we have a bit of a surprise entrant in Sreelekha Mitra for her brilliant cameo of multiple shades inAschorjyo Prodeep. Granted that the script etched out her character oh so discreetly and beautifully, might one add, but she performed so well that we were quite blown away!
At no.3 would be Swastika Mukherjee for being able to pull of the myriad of characters from all her movies last year! From Mishawr Rahasya to Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends, from Aashbo Aarek Din to Maach Mishti & More; even in a film like Rupe Tomay Bholabo Na, Swastika’s screen presence is commendable and we think she’ll do even better in 2014.
At no.2 would be Raima Sen – for her low-key, understated deglamourised performance in Shabdo she deserves a high rank in our Power List. She has also been really good in movies like C/o Sir, Maach, Mishti & More while she came up with an okay performance in Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends, we say a mixed year for her lands her at penultimate position in our list.
And finally, at the no.1 position would be a certain Ananya Chatterjee for an absolutely stunning, pure and unadulterated coming-of-age performance in Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s Meghe Dhaka Tara. It was both a pleasure and a privilege to see her performance as the wife of the maverick filmmaker on the silver-screen! Absolute kudos!
So, who else made it to our Power Rankings? keep watching this space for more!!
