Suchitra Sen's health worsens, put under ventilation!

uchitra Sen, the Living legend of Bengali Cinema, has been put under non-invasive ventilation in Belle Vue Hospital as of yesterday.
The doctors had to take stringent measures when the veteran actor suffered from a severe bout of breathlessness. She was hospitalized under complaints of a possible lung infection, which is yet to be cured.
“The ventilation is a step backward, but she is stable. At her age, such episodes of breathlessness can’t be ruled out till the lung infection goes. But we are hopeful that she will recover for her general health parameters are fine. We are monitoring her cardiac condition and there is nothing to be alarmed so far,” said Subrata Maitra, who leads the medical team at Belle Vue.
The reclusive star who has avoided being in the public eye since 1978, was visited by the Chief Minister of the State late at night yesterday.
Dr. Subrata Maitra also revealed to the media that, “In non-invasive ventilation, an oxygen mask is used instead of a pipe, allowing the patient to feed through the mouth. It can also be used intermittently.”
“We would have been happier had the medicines worked better. But the ventilation should help to keep away the breathing trouble and help her recover” added Maitra.
