Three decades of Prosenjit's presence in Bengali cinema, celebrated in style!

olkata bore witness to a very rare event, where almost the entire film industry got together to celebrate three decades of Prosenjit Chatterjee's success as Tollywood's leading face.
It is truly a remarkable feat for someone like "Bumba da" who has easily been the savior of the Bengali film industry, since Uttam Kumar's death. It is for him that popular cinema of Bengal continued its path after the demise of Uttam Kumar and for without him, the cine-technicians wouldn't have survived.
Recently, at a celebratory ceremony, our little birdie spotted the legends like Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Sandhya Ray, Lili Chakrabarty, Madhabi Mukherjee and others grace the occassion, speaking highly of Prosenjit's contribution to Bengali Cinema.
In a night of fun and frolic, Prosenjit was joined on stage by his wife Arpita, sister Pallavi and in a rare and surprising appearance, his father, the legendary Biswajit Chatterjee; who had made a niche for himself in both Bengali cinema and Hindi cinema. Audiences also got to see a small jig from the father and son duo, where on one hand Prosenjit was good but the cheers proved that perhaps, his father, Biswajit was better at the 'twist'.
Actors from across the cine fratenrity all joined in the celebrations on stage and our little birdie spotted Raima, Abir, Tanusree, Payel Sarkar, Sonali, Hiran, Locket, Ananya, Subhashree, June, Anupam, Paoli, Soham, Subhasis and many others.
The music of Prosenjit's next release - "Mishawr Rahasya" was also launched on this occasion and the full cast and crew were present on stage to do the honours.
We wish our own "Bumba da" the very best for all his upcoming ventures!!
